Manic Panic was created by two sisters named Tish and Snooky on July 7, 1977. Tish and Snooky were party of the original Blondie lineup and they created this brand to add some flair to the 70's punk scene. The originally took some of their clothing designs and borrowed $500 from their mom to open Manic Panic, America's first punk-style boutique, on St. Mark's Place. Since they opened their boutique they have developed one of the most widely used hair color and cosmetic lines on the market. They introduced hair dyes in practically every color and they also developed matching lip, nail, and eye cosmetics.
